Bear Claw, Spoiler in the back, and Starship Enterprise on the Side!

I was watching Comedy Central last night on my computer and checked out the comedy special "Girth of a Nation" by Ralphie May.

He's hilarious!
I thought this was a pretty funny clip, and since laughter IS the first word in the name of my blog, it's only necessary for us to laugh every once in a while!

Check out this clip from Girth of a Nation. If you get a chance to check out the entire special on Comedy Central, please do! You're in for a comical treat!

ALL MY SINGLE LADIES!

Beyonce's song "Single Ladies" is a banger! It doesn't matter when it comes on, wherever I'm at when the song drops, I immediately start tapping my feet and dancing my life away. And as good as I may feel when that song comes on, it always dawns on me after the fact that...damn....I'm a single lady.

Now some days, I love being single. Actually, most days. The freedom of going where I want to go when I want to go, without thinking how my significant other may feel. Not feeling obligated to spend time with someone. Living my life on my own schedule without catering to someone else's emotional needs. It's sooooooo freeing!

But then there are days when it gets rough. Days where I long to go for a walk, holding hands and talking about anything with the person that I love. Sleeping all night waiting to be able to tell my love "good morning." Making new and special memories that only we would share. Someone to call and want to know how I'm feeling. Someone to cater to my emotional/physical/spiritual needs.

Being single can be an anomaly. Happy. Sad. Laughter. Tears. Smiles. Frowns. growtH!

I've been single for some time now, and I've learned so much about who I am and the life I want to have. I've learned to embrace life (triumphs and shortcomings) and bask in the happiness and beauty that is ME!

At times it is rough. I do have someone special in my life that I do care about and love. But I have my reservations about what we do have. We've had ups and downs. We've had harsh discussions as well as enlightening ones where we expressed our deepest thoughts and desires. Some days there is an over-abundance of love that I feel, and other days I'm struggling with my own insecurities about love and heartache. I know that there are still multiple things that I need to work through in order to be ready to release this title of "single." But I know that when the day comes and I am ready, it will be great!

In the journey for single women, we must remember that every man we meet is not meant to be our mate. Some people are placed in our lives for a lifetime of friendship, others just for a season for comfort, and some to show us and teach us lessons in life about who we are and our place in this world.

To my best friend, I know today may be hard. Tomorrow may be hard. The next month may be hard. But this is just a test. A test of your strength and resilience. Life is full of hurts and heartache, but it's also full with many more smiles and laughter. No matter what someone may say or do to you, you can't let them steal your joy. Your future is endless right now. You have so much life left afhead of you. Know that you're beautiful, you're special, and you're WORTHY of only the best! No man defines your worth or your destiny. The only that defines who or what YOU are is YOU! I love you!

Embrace this time being a single woman. Learn to love you. And love to learn you.

Now pump up that Beyonce and start grinding! LOL
