love.for it to only consist of four letters, it definitely holds so much weight.

i can honestly say that i have given love and received love. but the consequences of doing so have taught me many lessons, awarded me with many smiles and butterflies, and gifted me with many unwanted disappointments.
but through my previous love, i have been able to open myself up to what is new. what is readily available. to the unknown. and i'm scared as hell and shaking in my brand new boots but enjoying the journey!
loving someone is a simple task. being able to care for someone's feelings, feel an indescribable closeness with someone, having a strong affection for someone, or the sexual desires associated with an emotional connection with someone are easy to have. it's the possibility of knowing that it's a one-sided deal. knowing that you may be hurt. or the new person is not the one you'll spend the rest of your life with.
these are things that we cannot control. all we can control is how open we let our hearts. i'm still open to love and my heart is open for business.
